Inappropriate Gestures Result in 2 Coaches Banned for 2 Matches in MPL Indonesia!

The controversy over inappropriate behavior by Geek.Renz and AE.Arss has finally reached its peak, after MPL Indonesia officially imposed sanctions, banning them from accompanying their teams in the next two matches. Strict measures!

Earlier, Renz, who serves as the coach of Geek Fam ID, displayed unethical behavior by showing his middle fingers when highlighted by the camera. He did this on Saturday, July 29, 2023, during the match between Geek Fam ID and Alter Ego, in the second game where they encountered troubleshooting.

Unfortunately, AE.Arss, who was also captured by the camera to divert attention, did the same thing. The Alter Ego analyst used his middle finger to communicate with his colleague about what he saw when Renz was being shown on camera.

Although it seemed accidental and not directed at the camera, MPL Indonesia firmly punished Arss along with Renz as a demonstration of professionalism highly regarded by Moonton Indonesia, the tournament organizer.

Not stopping there, MPL Indonesia promptly removed the audience member who was caught displaying unethical behavior from the stage, in order to maintain a stable and safe atmosphere.

Penalties for Geek.Renz and AE.Arss in MPL Indonesia

Due to their actions, MPL Indonesia officially imposed a two-match ban on Geek.Renz and AE.Arss for the upcoming matches. This means Renz will not be able to accompany Geek Fam ID in Week 3, while Arss will be absent in Week 4. Interestingly, the two matches they will miss are against Dewa United Esports and RRQ.

The same punishment was previously imposed on former Geek Fam ID player, Doyok, who also engaged in the same behavior during MPL ID S6. This shows MPL Indonesia's commitment to upholding professional standards within the tournament's scope.

MPL Indonesia will closely monitor any similar scenarios to maintain the standards and professionalism they have established. They have also been working together with teams and players to continuously improve and promote a healthy esports ecosystem.
