ESL One Malaysia 2022 Announced!

Good news to all Dota 2 fans, especially those who live in Southeast Asia! As a warming up for TI 11, we can get a taste of some LAN action with ESL One Malaysia 2022. This event will take place from August 23-28 in the Arena of Stars in the Genting Highlands, Malaysia.

This means, it will be held between the end of PGL Arlington Major 2022 and before the Last Chance Qualifier for TI11 starts. With a total of USD 400k (around MYR 1,76 Million) prize pool, 12 teams will compete at the event, consisting of six invited teams and six others who will fight through the qualifier stage in each region.

Group Stage will start on August 23-25, where 12 BO2 matches will be held on the 23-24, while the last day will consist of 6 BO2 and 2 BO3 matches. All Group Stage will be available via online only.

The Playoffs to Grand Final will start directly after Group Stage on August 26-28, with 3 BO3 matches will be held on August 26-25, while the day of the Grand Final will consist of 1 BO3 match and 1 BO5 match. Like most esports tournaments post-COVID-19 these days, The Playoffs and the Grand Final are available both in-person and online.

Tickets for the tournament will be on sale on friday (June 10) and the price is ranged from MYR 399 for 3-Day Premium Access to only MYR 69 for 1-Day Access. More details can be found one ESL One Malaysia 2022 official website.

Unfortunately, the details regarding the qualifiers and the invited teams are yet to be revealed. So, you have to stay tuned for it!

The ESL One Malaysia 2022 will become the first International Dota 2 LAN event in Southeast Asia, which will feature spectators since the Kuala Lumpur Major 2018. Since this is the last international tournament before TI11 qualifiers kicks off, the competition is expected to be fierce.
