One of Tundra Esports' players, Martin "Saksa" Sazdov, was confirmed not to be representing his team at the upcoming biggest Dota 2 tournament, The International 2023! This sudden announcement doesn't come as a surprise as there have been rumors about him for some time.
Not only did Saksa fail to attend tournaments that Tundra Esports participated in, but there was also news about other players who took his place. As we all know, Saksa is experiencing some sort of mental issue that is preventing him from playing to his full potential.
This was not a trivial matter, and as a result, Tundra Esports made an exception for Saksa not to play in some tournaments. As always, The International is the pinnacle and main event of all Dota 2 tournaments every year. Considering the prize pool and the prestigious Aegis of Champions that the winner of this tournament will bring home, it's the ultimate goal of many professional players.
Saksa himself must be well aware that The International is not a small tournament, and this decision must be taken. considering that the stability of one's mental health is something that must be maintained, especially for esports teams.
At this point, it's unclear who will replace Saksa at Tundra Esports for The International 2023. However, it was rumored some time ago that Topias "Topson" Miikka Taavitsainen would replace him.
Currently, Saksa himself is on the Tundra Esports inactive list. Hopefully, we'll see his comeback when he's fully healthy!
