Tundra Esports introduces Liverpool FC football player and Dutch national team captain, Virgil Van Dijk as their shareholder and brand ambassador. This is not the first time for a football player to enter the world of esports.
Before him, there are footballers such as Mesut Ozil, Neymar, Gareth Bale and others who have already entered the world of esports. Tundra Esports, who is in collaboration with rapper P Money (another ambassador for the team), recently released a music video to announce the arrival of the Liverpool FC player.
The news of Virgil joining the esports team appeared before the beginning of PGL Dota 2 Major Arlington 2022. Both Tundra Esports and Virgil Van Dijk posted this news on Twitter. He stated that he was delighted to join Tundra Esports, because they are growing so fast as an esports organization,
"I am very happy to be joining Tundra Esports. Tundra Esports is one of the fastest growing esports organizations in the world and they are moving towards a very interesting destination," said VVD via Twitter.
In addition, the 2019 Champions League winner also feels that Tundra Esports has the values he is looking for in an esports team.
“They (Tundra Esports) have built a great reputation in terms of player well-being and a winning culture, which is something that suits me very well. I'm excited for the future (of the team)," said Van Dijk.
The 31-year-old player will himself have presented several trophies for the club nicknamed the Reds. As an experienced football player, there must be a lot of things he can share with Tundra Esports players.
