Sentinels Sack VALORANT Head Coach after VCT Loss

Don "SyykoNT" Muir had to part ways with the Sentinels less than a year into his tenure as their coach. This was due to the team's poor performance under his leadership, which was highlighted by their consecutive defeats to NRG and Leviatán during the regular season of VCT 2023: Americas League.

During his stint with the Sentinels, SyykoNT's coaching record was far from impressive. The team managed to win only two out of seven matches, with one victory coming in their debut match in the VCT Americas League. They emerged victorious against 100 Thieves in a fiercely contested battle.

During his time as the coach of the Sentinels, SyykoNT also managed to secure a win against the top-ranked TSM team in the Ludwig x Tarik Invitational. However, their victory was short-lived as TSM did not give them a chance to win in the rematch during the lower bracket.

The Sentinels' management was compelled to make the difficult decision of letting go of SyykoNT, given the team's unsatisfactory performance under his tutelage.

The announcement of SyykoNT's departure from the coaching staff of the Sentinels was made by the CEO, Rob Moore, who also revealed his replacement, Adam "kaplan," to fill the vacancy.

Apart from the change in the Head Coach position, Sentinel has made no changes to its active roster, which includes Tyson “TenZ” Ngo, Jimmy “Marved” Nguyen, Zachary “zekken” Patrone, Rory “dephh” Jackson, Gustavo “Sacy” Rossi, and Bryan “pANcada” Luna.

As of the writing of this article, the Sentinel team is still struggling in the #8 spot in the regular season standings of VCT 2023: Americas League. Only two teams remain below Sentinel, namely Evil Geniuses and KRU Esports. In contrast, 100 Thieves, whom Sentinel defeated earlier in the season, are currently in the middle of the pack at #6.

A new era for Sentinel is set to begin, but it won't be an easy one as they face LOUD next Friday. LOUD is currently at the top of the regular season standings for VCT 2023: Americas League. This match against LOUD will be a significant test for Kaplan, the new coach of Sentinel.

With SyykoNT's departure, will Sentinel's NT (nice try) attempts come to an end, or will they turn their fortunes around with a new beginning by defeating the reigning champions? What do you think? Let us know in the comments below!
