Team Spirit, the champions of The International 10, are experiencing internal issues that have shaken the team's stability, both in-game and out-game. This makes it very likely that Team Spirit's roster will be completely replaced.
The strategy used at The International 10 no longer works, but Team Spirit can't seem to "move on" from it.
Considering their performance in the regional DPC and the past Five Majors, Team Spirit is not one of the favorite contender like they did in The International 10. The current Team Spirit looks confused about what to do, and almost all of its tactics have been easily read by its opponents.
Another problem is that some of its players have experienced a performance downgrade. The most prominent is Illya "Yatoro" Mulyarchuk. The 20-year-old was seen doing things that didn't need to be done and ended up making the game more difficult for Team Spirit.
Yatoro also went viral yesterday after refusing to shake hands after losing to Southeast Asia's only representative in the Lima Major playoffs, Talon Esports. He was seen walking straight out of the booth, and down the stairs without shaking hands with Talon's players. Unlike Yatoro, the rest of his teammates shook hands and upheld fair play and respect.
Despite clarifying via Team Spirit's Twitter, the matter seemed to get worse when the manager shared the fact that Team Spirit would have a different lineup for the DPC next season.
Hearing this news, Team Spirit fans were understandably upset. After the departure of midlaner Alexander "TORONTOTOKYO" Khertek to BetBoom Team, Team Spirit seemed to lose their passion for winning and seemed too "easy going" and underestimated their opponents.
It is still unclear who will be replaced. Currently, Team Spirit's roster is:
- Illya "Yatoro" Mulyarchuk
- Denis "Larl" Sigitov
- Magomed "Collapse" Khalilov
- Miroslaw "Mira" Kolpakov
- Yaroslav "Miposhka" Naidenov
Who will be replaced in the DPC next season? Will we see Team Spirit return to The International 10 form?
