Following the release of the new map “Lotus”, Valorant also revealed their plans for 2023. According to John Goscicki, Riot Games' Character Producer, they are planning to release three new Agents this year!

Goscicki breaks the news via a short video on Valorant’s official Instagram account. He explains that in the last two and a half years, the Riot Games team has felt that they have to introduce new Agents gradually in order to keep the game exciting and interesting.

He also pointed out that creating and adding new Valorant Agents isn’t easy, since he always needs to pay attention to the current META and what type of gameplay is currently loved by players.

As to what kind of abilities these newest Agents will have, Goscicki is still keeping it all under wraps. However, he gave some clues that the new Agents' roles will be an Initiator, a Sentinel, and a “secret”.

This so-called “secret” might refer to the theory that has been circulating around for a while, where Valorant will introduce a new role to the game. As for the 22nd Agent, it was said that it would be released soon in the near future. 

John explained that this new Agent will have a new way to check the corners of the arena, enter the area, and place spikes. The teaser image for the new Agent is also revealed, which you can see on the top of this page.
